FOR ALL TYPES OF PUMP
Electrically powered pumps hate frost. Therefore make sure to store them empty and dry in winter.
Tecnoma garden spray pumps are fitted with a drain plug on the pump body.
Tecnoma recommends using PTFE tape on the pump screw threads for perfect water-tightness.
TOP-UP PUMP
Keeping the feed pump in good condition
To avoid degradation of the membrane in the pump chamber, check the empty pressure of the chamber twice a year. The pressure gauge should show roughly 1.5 bar.
Regularly check for water leaks in the pump circuit pipework, toilet cisterns, etc. These could cause the pump to start up more frequently and lead to premature wear.
DRAIN PUMP
Cellar pumps are not for use with all types of water
This type of pump is designed for occasional use (except for houses located in flood areas) but is indispensable as a quick way of limiting water damage from burst pipes or flooding.
Standard cellar pumps can evacuate clear water only. They must not be installed with the intent of pumping salt water, corrosive liquids, or inflammable substances, nor are they suitable for contact with food. Specific models are available for evacuating sea water or other types of liquid such as hot or corrosive water.
During installation…
The sump must be wide enough to allow full floater movement. Tecnoma pumps allow adjustment of the floater cable length. Care must nonetheless be taken to avoid making it too short, which leaves it vulnerable to shearing.
Immersing drain pumps or well pumps
Never hang the pump from the electric cable. Tecnoma models are fitted with rope holes for suspension, keeping the pumps off the well bottom where they might stir up deposits.
Also, and above all, this stops the risk of accidents caused by such practices.
